NomadX
NomadX is a New York-headquartered technology start-up, created to commercialise pioneering new technologies for biological and chemical detection, bringing the next step in the evolution of pioneering diagnostics to market.
With a wealth of experience in the life sciences and biotech industries, the NomadX team created the platform to simplify the detection of (in)organic substances in various capacities such as food, water, air and clinical applications.
As the business readied to launch, and with a high-profile conference imminent, we were commissioned to develop the NomadX brand, website and key supporting communications. Meeting the requirements of a rapidly growing start-up, we created a flexible solution at pace, whilst also cognisant of the need to build the website on a scalable platform for frictionless and cost-effective ongoing development and growth.
Adaptive by design
The NomadX device uses proprietary, patented technology innovated at and licensed from a leading university to deliver fast, highly sensitive results with ease. This ability to rapidly and accurately identify a range of pathogens, chemicals, allergens and more is unique to NomadX and where the identity draws its inspiration – from the adaptive dynamic mark to the use of abstract, microscopic photography.
Combining heritage and innovation
The wider identity leverages inspiration from the story of Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) – a non-destructive chemical analysis and technique at the core of the NomadX platform. From the use of blue to represent the origin story of Raman, to the use of a contemporary mono typeface, the identity and brand reflect the juxtaposition of long-standing scientific history and future-looking life sciences innovation.
Future focused approach
Whilst the phase one website launch requirements were basic, we developed the new site as a modular build on the Umbraco CMS, ensuring ease of scalability was always front of mind.
With a team that’s moving quickly, they needed a site they could easily update and allow them to showcase the latest news and press releases. With this in mind, the ability to design and build new modules, and add further functionality and new content at pace was baked into our technical approach and thinking from the outset.
Beyond the visual identity, brand and website, we also created a suite of broader assets to start them on their journey, from PowerPoint templates and stationery to key social assets.
The brand and website have launched with great success both internally and externally and SampsonMay were able to turn our initial vision into an even greater reality. They were passionate about creating something that brought our vision to life, and that set us up for our growth trajectory. I’d worked with the team previously, so knew they were the best people for this!
