In brief

Our work with the team at Ophir extends across annual reporting, brand communications and digital to include the planning and redesign of the Group’s corporate website.

Following Ophir’s acquisition of Salamander Energy plc, the Group grew from a purely Africa-focused operator to include a new and growing presence in Asia. This growth, along with the need to develop a mobile optimised corporate site, signalled the need for a complete overhaul of Ophir’s online presence.

We wanted to produce a website that reflected Ophir’s position and ambitions within the oil and gas sector, reflecting the businesses growth alongside more established sector peers.

The principal aim of the new website was to provide a clear and concise overview of strategy, operations and current activity, corporate governance standards, IR and CSR with improved user experience, navigation and accessibility.

Prior to focussing on the design of the site we conducted a brand audit of collateral across the Group and worked with the Investor Relations team to understand any fundamental issues that needed to be addressed and to develop a full set of identity guidelines to drive consistency across the Group.

Following this initial stage of work we implemented a phase of UX and IA design, undertaking research and persona analysis before wireframing the core site templates and moving into a content strategy exercise to develop copy and asset creation.

Building upon our foundation research and planning stage, we designed the site to work seamlessly across desktop, tablet and smartphone devices, ensuring a full and unrestricted user experience regardless of device.

Developed in PHP on a simple and intuitive Content Management System, we manage the hosting and server infrastructure for Ophir in addition to providing ongoing support to provide not only daily help beyond our clients’ CMS capability but also a pro-active support package for future development and management of the site.

Following the site launch, we have also been working with the communications team to deliver a range if supporting materials from the Ophir Global Code of Conduct through corporate advertising, factsheets and exhibition design.
