Presenting future technology

Farnborough International Airshow is one of the world's most iconic biennial aviation events and the opportunity for BAE Systems to display their products, services, training and technology on a global stage.

Our brief was to create an audio-visual presentation that left the world of PowerPoint behind and truly reflected the future-looking, technology-driven solutions that BAE deliver.

Working with advanced projection techniques onto a 7m glass wall in the ‘Future Technology’ area of the airshow, the objective was to bring to life BAE's understanding of their clients' future problems, and demonstrate how their technology is being developed to enable customers to stay ahead.

With an underlying requirement to deliver the ’wow’ factor, we worked closely with BAE’s futurist professors and the Group communications team to create a storyboard encompassing an introductory video that gave context and entry points into a series of detailed, interactive presentations built around five main themes.

After refinement of the messaging and technical discussions with the events management team, we brought the storyboard to life using illustration and animation. Given the scale and advanced technologies being used, we spent two days on-site in Farnborough testing and developing the presentation to ensure the graphics, animation and audio were delivered to the highest standard.

Overall the final presentation had real impact, was visually engaging and presented the BAE ‘story’ in a stimulating and interesting way. The interactive functionality provided a platform for presenters and customers alike to deep-dive into content and discuss further the challenges and pioneering solutions for future customer needs.
