SampsonMay boosts senior team with new Client Services Director Adrian Smart.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the brand design and communications sector, Adrian Smart joins SampsonMay’s expanding team as its new Client Services Director.
Adrian has worked agency-side across multiple sectors over the past two decades. Key experiences include developing the brand for a major supermarket chain in Southeast Asia, and delivering the visual identity and communications for the London 2012 Olympic Games (“a once-in-a-lifetime experience”). More recently, he has specialised in B2B branding and comms, with large global clients in the industrial and professional services sectors.

As SampsonMay continues its growth, a big focus for Adrian will be working with the client services team to instil robust processes and best-in-class project management.
“I’ll be pushing to add value by helping the team deliver the best experience for our clients – all while supporting the creative process,” said Adrian. “As well as new business generation, we'll be working with existing clients to raise our profile and maximise opportunities to develop those accounts too.
“SampsonMay has a linear, can-do culture, with different groups working together, which makes the whole process more collaborative and enriching. And despite the remote onboarding process, everyone has been supportive as I’ve settled into my new position.”
Following roles at Dragon Rouge, FutureBrand, Harkess-Ord and Blue Marlin, Adrian has a proven track record of delivering a first-rate experience for some of the world’s biggest brands.
“A sea change has been happening in B2B marketing,” says Adrian. “Traditionally, B2B transactions can be seen as dry and rational but, more and more, the business world is realising that brands succeed by engaging people on an emotional level. With a full-service offer across brand, digital and comms, SampsonMay is perfectly placed to create and deliver integrated, purpose-driven work for world-class B2B brands.”
Managing Director Andy May said: “Adrian’s appointment comes at a critical time for us, as we continue to expand our team and grow our portfolio of clients. He has a deep understanding of B2B digital communications and has already proved himself to be an invaluable asset.”
