We’ve got four lovely calendars designed for 2009. One is an update to an 08 version and the other three are brand spanking new! Paper is being ordered and then they’re off to our screen printers so they should be ready for the start of August.

It is time for SampsonMay to lift up our balls in an all out effort against Fivefootsix in BALLORAMA 2008. It is a show down of the highest magnitude. The event of the year some people would say. We at SampsonMay are hard at work tweaking our Ballorama arms into perfection with the help of our newest member “Jesusâ€. Let us all just say, let the balls roll and the pins fly…
As promised a few of us popped along to the Smithfield Nocturne to cheer on a few local lads as well as some of the more established stars. The rain held off for most of the night which allowed for some exciting racing.
Jos Van Veldoven (above) racing for Rollapaluza mixed it with the best of them but the night belonged to Barloworld's Geraint Thomas who was fresh from Italy's Giro di Italia. A full race report and more photography can be found on British Cycling's website here
Its just gone six on a Friday evening and we are all thinking about what to do this weekend. If your at a loose end and fancy combining some of London’s best pubs and world class criterium racing from some of Britain and Europe’s best riders then pop down to Smithfield Nocturne on Saturday. There you will be able to see the likes of GB’s and Barloworld’s Tour De France Rider, not to mention World Champion, Geraint Thomas and Rapha’s Dean Downing. Personally I am going to be shouting for a few riders with a bit more personal interest, namely Jos Van Veldoven from the newly formed Rollapaluza CC and my local team Sigma Sport Specialized.
We are all back safe and sound from a very informative evening with Experimental Jetset, where they talked about how they work in Univers and not just helvetica, “Those slab things on letterforms” (serifs to everyone else) and working for the French. Well, when I say we are all back, Sev seems to have picked a “bug” last night or perhaps it was a dodgy pint, anyway we hope he gets better soon and look forward to him working his html magic on Monday.
We’re busy working on our new 2009 calendars which will be available to buy on our shop. As with previous years, they will be limited edition and lovingly screen printed by hand on GF Smith colorplan. We’ll put a post on the blog when they’re ready for sale, which will probably be around mid-August.
We’re off to the Experimental Jetset lecture on Thursday at Logan Hall, WC1H. It looks like it should be an interesting talk so if you fancy grabbing some last minute tickets then visit the D&AD site to find out more.
A few mellow waves were had this weekend at Croyde – the swell dropped off but if you had a longboard some fun could be had. Swell is picking up for later in the week…so watch this space!
