Ricky has returned from a successful training mission in Italy. In addition to a few 100 km in the legs, and a collection of nice photography, Ricky was rubbing shoulders with the stars at the Giro including great british riders Geraint Thomas, Mark Cavendish, David Millar and Bradley Wiggins. Once Ricky has finished finding all his belongings (following the long overdue cleansing of his desk) he should get around to doing some work at last!

Ricky left for sunny Italy yesterday to watch a few stages of the Giro and get some miles in his legs prior to London 2 Paris. In his absence we’ve seized the opportunity to tidy up his desk and throw out the piles of clobber gathered around it. A win-win situation each way!

Kate’s back in the studio today having spent a day at the zoo yesterday visiting Gary – a Red River Hog pig she adopted as part of the London Zoo Adopt an Animal scheme. You’ll be glad to hear that Gary is doing well but being monitored closely for the risk of potential sunburn! If you want to help support the course then visit London Zoo here.

Ricky has been hard at work over the past weeks training for the London to Paris bike ride. The pounds are dropping off and legs are getting stronger as the 28 June D-Day gets ever closer.

We’ll keep you posted on how things go as Ricky reaches peak performance over the next few weeks. Hopefully there will be some gain to the pain as he is also raising sponsorship for charity (Against Breast Cancer) so if you want to donate, please go his Just Giving page – all donations welcome however big or small – thank you!

SurfMiles

Good news – the Bournemouth surf reef got the go ahead and the underwater bags have been ordered so it won’t be too long until London surfers can go a bit closer for some half decent waves. There’s been some talk of monstrous surf but in honesty it won’t really happen but what it will do is double the number of surfable days and should turn two foot slop into a reasonably tidy four little wave.

Accompanying this is a huge redevelopment of the area to create new jobs, new facilities and what will hopefully become a groovy little surf spot only a couple of hours out of London…hoorah! To find out more keep an eye out at the www.bournemouthreef.com website.

Tee hee – Dearbhla’s wall of shame continues to grow with slightly amusing address labels sent by those who couldn’t quite get their head around the spelling of Celtic names (much to our amusement)!

SummerMadness

At last, summer would appear to be on its way and the Studio’s getting excited. The shorts are on (as are the sunglasses to counter the glare) and Magnus is off to Croyde surfing this weekend. The studio summer party is being prepared and will involve surfing, barbies and beer in North Devon (approximately two months to loose one stone and get the shoulder muscles working again)!

Friends and family are joining the run for the sun (the picture above is my brother in-law’s twin charging at Perranporth) so if it’s not in your diary then pick a weekend and get some fresh air in your lungs - check the surf forecast here and have fun.
